Coach Bio

H. Delroy Murray

An Attorney-at-Law by profession, Delroy played representative football, cricket, track and field and volleyball at and for his alma mater. Excelsior High School. At the University of the West Indies (Cave Hill Campus) he represented the Faculty of Law in Track & Field, the University in Volleyball and was the successful Manager of the Cave Hill Campus’ Football Team that won the Inter-Campus Football Competition for the first time in 1981. He also successfully Managed the Inter-Campus’ All Star Team that year in their match against the Barbadian Division One Football Champions. A visionary at heart, Delroy brings to the Academy organizational skills honed from his years as First Vice-President of the CIAA (2001-2003), President of the CIAA (2004-2008). During his tenure he advocated tirelessly for an inter-High School Track & Field Championships and put in place a program for the development of Youth athletes. A qualified USATF Track Coach and a member of the Jamaica Track & Field Coaches Association, he is an Educator at heart who places a high premium on academics for the athletes of the Academy. His vision is to grow the Academy beyond the sport of Track & Field and into all of the six National core sports of the Cayman Islands.
